Pressed Flower Suncatchers
with William Reichle
Join stained glass artist William Reichle in creating your own one-of-a-kind suncatcher! In this two-hour class, you will make your own arrangement of pressed flowers and learn how to frame it between two pieces of pre-cut and pre-ground glass. You’ll have a choice between the circle, arch, and triangle shapes in class.
In this workshop, you’ll gain guided experience with foiling, soldering, and hanging your suncatcher with an O-Ring. Note: Class may run a little longer depending on the participants’ pace.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
William Reichle is a stained glass artist, educator, and owner of Hypmatizarism Glass, based in Portland, Oregon. His work explores stained glass through a contemporary lens, combining traditional techniques with bold color, texture, and unconventional design. Since beginning to teach in 2022, William has led more than 250 stained glass workshops and taught more than 2,500 students across the Pacific Northwest and Midwest. His teaching practice focuses on making stained glass approachable and accessible while giving students hands-on experience with traditional methods and materials.
Through Hypmatizarism Glass, William creates original stained glass work, develops educational projects and kits, and partners with art centers, studios, and community organizations to introduce more people to the craft. Sharing his love of stained glass with others has become one of the greatest joys of his life

Introduction to Stained Glass Assembly
with William Reichle
In this 4-hour class, you will learn how to use the Tiffany method of creating stained glass art. Teaching artist William Reichle will guide you in the process of foiling, soldering technique, framing with lead and attaching O-rings. You’ll work with a pre-cut and pre-ground glass kit and have your choice of the three designs pictured, and you’ll learn techniques for cleaning and polishing your piece. We will cover safety measures while working with stained glass; the class may run a little long depending on the participants’ pace.
When registering, please select which of the three designs you would like to assemble during this class. The options are Monstera Madness, Spidey Leaf, and Snowflake.

Weave a Little Rush Basket
with Radha Newsom
Join basketry artist Radha Newsom for a hands-on afternoon workshop where you'll weave a beautiful little basket with native rush, Schoelenplectus acutus.
Do not be fooled by the diminutive size! This class can challenge you. The basket will be formed on a mold, which will be removed halfway through the basket. We’ll begin with a plaited start, followed by 'S' twining and then a simple (yet sophisticated) border to tie it all together.
Whether or not you have basket-weaving experience, this class is for you. Depending on your chosen pace, you can make one or two baskets during this session.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Radha is a basket weaver who farms and wildcrafts weaving materials on Marrowstone Island. Each basket is woven with traditional techniques developed and refined by generations of artisans who have created and shared this craft. Radha has trained with Roma people in France and, most recently, with American and Irish basket weavers. She sells her work at newquistforge.com and teaches rush and willow basketry workshops locally and through the Northwest Basket Weavers Guild.
